The tools to realise Your Application, Inspiration, Innovation … Your Solution
Shimmer Sensors Application Development Tools
Shimmer provides a number of supporting software development tools and instrument drivers. This allows users to rapidly develop software applications specific to their application data capture, storage, processing, and user interface requirements.
All development tools work in conjunction with Shimmer’s stock firmware, and assist users to unlock Shimmer’s full potential, tailored to their specific requirements. All development tools and instrument drivers are made freely available to current customers and users of the Shimmer platform.
Development Tools and Instrument Drivers
ShimmerSensing LabVIEW Instrument Driver Library and Shimmer LabVIEW Development Library
The Shimmer3 LabVIEW Instrument Driver Library is a library of LabVIEW VIs designed to assist users of the Shimmer 2 Shimmer 2r and Shimmer3 in the development of Shimmer based applications in LabVIEW. The ShimmerSensing LabVIEW Library provides all the benefits associated with the LabVIEW development environment, and incorporates a number of end user functions specific to the Shimmer platform. Extensive supporting documentation is available, along with video demonstrations and annotations. For more details visit our LabVIEW Instrument Driver webpage.
Shimmer also offers developers access to the Shimmer LabVIEW Development Library which contains source code for applications developed by the Shimmer team. To access this click here.
Shimmer MATLAB Instrument Driver
The Shimmer MATLAB Instrument Driver is an object orientated solution for Shimmer data capture directly into MATLAB.
The solution will allow Shimmer users to stream data directly to MATLAB, and assist users of the Shimmer2, Shimmer 2r and Shimmer3 platforms in the development of Shimmer based applications in MATLAB. Shimmer users will benefit from MATLAB’s full range of tools including matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, Java, and Fortran. For more details visit our MATLAB Webpage.
Shimmer Java/Android API
The Shimmer Java/Android API allows for Shimmer data to be streamed directly to Android devices.
The solution will permit Shimmer users to easily interact, configure, stream, display and log data on Android devices. The purpose of the driver is to reduce the development time of Shimmer developers on the Android operating system. Built on top of the Android Bluetooth Library, the driver’s object orientated design allows easy integration with other libraries. For more information visit our Android Webpage.
Shimmer C# API Development
ShimmerConnect allows users to display and save data received from Shimmer devices streaming over Bluetooth. The application is designed for greater usability and functionality, with a number of data capture parameters being configurable. ShimmerConnect is a .NET application, written in C#. The source code is available to existing customers upon request. For more details visit the following web-pages: C# Development Webpage
